Patent lawsuits sadly never die, they just go into hibernation for a while. FOSS Patents reports that the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit has just overturned the International Trade Commission’s dismissal of Apple’s patent suit against Motorola that involved two patents dealing with multi-touch technology. The new ruling now gives Apple the ability to renew its push for import bans on Motorola products that allegedly infringe on the patents and FOSS Patents notes that the company could use the same patents to go after Samsung yet again if it wanted to. This is the second major reversal of an ITC ruling against Apple over the last week after the Obama administration vetoed the ITC’s import ban against older iPhone and iPad models.
