Apple’s Worldwide Developer Conference
kicks off in a few short hours, but as is always the case, details surrounding the company’s announcements will continue to trickle out right up until Apple executives take the stage on Monday morning. To start things off, 9to5Mac reports that it has obtained specs for upcoming new MacBook Pro and Mac Pro models from unnamed sources. Available configurations will be as follows, according to the report:
MacBook Pro:
- 13.3 inch: 2.5GHz dual core processor, 4GB of RAM, 500GB hard drive
- 13.3 inch: 2.9GHz dual core processor, 8GB of RAM, 750GB hard drive
- 15.4 inch: 2.3GHz quad core processor, 4GB of RAM, 500GB hard drive
- 15.4 inch: 2.6GHz quad core processor, 8GB of RAM, 750GB hard drive (BTO upgrades to 2.7GHz quad core and 1TB HD will be available)
Mac Pro:
- Normal configuration: 3.2GHz quad-core processor, 6GB of RAM, 1TB hard drive, and the ATI Radeon 5770 graphics chip.
- Normal configuration: 2.4GHz 12-core processor, 12GB of RAM, 1TB hard drive, and the ATI Radeon 5770 graphics chip.
- Server configuration: 3.2GHz quad-core processor, 8GB of RAM, Two 1TB hard drives
According to the website, the MacBook Pro models listed above will not include Retina displays, but the blog still believes that high-definition MacBook Pro and MacBook Air models will be introduced during Apple’s WWDC 2012 keynote, which is set to begin at 1:00 p.m. Eastern, 10:00 a.m. Pacific.
9to5Mac also reports that Apple will introduce an updated AirPort Express as well as a new USB SuperDrive that will be marketed alongside the MacBook Pro, which the site says will no longer feature an integrated optical drive.
