There can’t be a major Android release without an official statue going up on one of Google’s front lawn, and the recently announced Android 5.0 Lollipop is no exception. Android Central found the Lollipop statue en route to the lawn outside Building 44, and the site snapped several pictures of it in the process.

As can be easily seen in the images below, the new statue is quite simple, featuring Google’s iconic green robot holding a big lollipop in its hand. The statue is supposed to join Google’s other statues depicting previous Android OS versions.

Google’s Android 5.0 Lollipop will be preloaded on the new Nexus devices that will launch soon, including the Nexus 6, Nexus 9 and Nexus Player, and will soon be available for Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7, Nexus 10 and Google Play Edition devices. Motorola has also confirmed that its 2013 and 2014 Android devices will receive Android 5.0 at some point in the future.

A few images of the lollipop statue follow below, with more available at the source link.
