Things are looking good for anyone hoping to see some next-generation iPhones launching in the foreseeable future. According to both RegHardware and Engadget, the 8GB flavors of the current iPod Touch and iPhone have been given “End Of Life” status, meaning that once the current stock is sold (which it is) it will not be replenished with the same model. While this isn’t a sure fire indicator that a new product is around the corner, it’s a pretty good bet that something fresh is coming down the pipeline. Then again, if we’re still looking towards late June for the 2nd Generation iPhone, 2 months without a “low-end” handset from Apple could feel like an eternity.
