One day in the not-too-distant future we might be able to park our cars with a flick of the wrist or a touch of a button. But while you wait for self-driving cars, you should know Nissan has created an Intelligent Parking Chair concept that parks itself at your desk upon hearing your hands clap.
You heard that right: A single clap will actually be enough to park all the chairs in an office or classroom, as the following video will show you.

Much like Lexus’s functional hoverboard, the self-driving chair is also part of a marketing stunt promote the company’s car tech rather than a brand new product. Inspired by Nissan’s parking assist feature, the chair is certainly impressive and useful, though it’s not clear whether Nissan wants to sell such a product at this time.
Whatever the case, there’s complex technology powering these chairs, including camera sensors in the ceiling, a command center that controls the seats over Wi-Fi, and the chair’s base that contains wheels and a motor.
It’s not clear how these chairs would recharge, but the video does an excellent job showing how easy it is to arrange chairs in a room with a simple clap of the hand.
