Typically, carrier promotions designed to boost smartphone sales are pretty weak. The latest smartphone promotion from Sprint, however, is actually worth checking out.

DON’T MISS: Smartphones from 2013 that are still awesome two years later

Throughout the entire month of November, Sprint is offering users a free year of Amazon Prime if they purchase a qualifying Samsung smartphone. Per usual, the devil is in the details, so it’s not as if you can stroll in and pick up an outdated or entry level Samsung device and then bask in the glory of free two-day shipping. Qualifying devices for the promotion include the Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge+, and the Galaxy Note 5.

Still, that’s about the only footnote worth mentioning as it pertains to this promotion. So whether you’re interested in buying your phone with a two-year contract, buying it unlocked, or paying for it in monthly installments (it’s all the rage these days), the promotion will still apply. Additionally, the promotion is applicable to both existing and new Sprint subscribers.

Of course, once the first year of Amazon Prime expires, consumers intent on keeping the service and all of the perks that come along with it will have to fork over $99.

Sprint’s press release reads in part:

Beginning Nov. 6, new and existing Sprint customers that activate qualifying Samsung devices on Sprint, receive a full year of Amazon Prime on us – that’s a $99 value, exclusively from Sprint. With Amazon Prime, customers can enjoy unlimited FREE Two-Day Shipping on more than 20 million items, unlimited streaming of tens of thousands of movies and TV episodes with Prime Video, access to ad-free streaming of over a million songs including thousands of curated playlists and personalized stations with Prime Music, unlimited photo storage with Prime Photos and much more this holiday season and the year after.

Not a bad deal at all.
