Just hours ago on its official site, Marvel confirmed the existence of yet another Phase 3 film called Ant-Man and the Wasp. Up until now, Marvel hadn’t said anything about a sequel to this summer’s Ant-Man, but after the Phase 2 finale’s success (critically and financially), the studio has decided to shrink down once again on July 6th, 2018.
The addition of another franchise in the Phase 3 lineup means that a few films will have to shift around in order to accommodate Scott Lang and Hope Van Dyne. Black Panther is moving up to February 16th, 2018 and Captain Marvel has been pushed back to March 8th, 2019.
Marvel also shared that three Phase 4 release dates have been set: May 1st, 2020, July 10th, 2020, and November 6th, 2020. Frustratingly, no titles were attached to those dates, but at least we know the next decade will kick off with plenty of comic book films for us to watch.
We’ll be keeping an eye out for more exciting announcements from NYCC until it wraps up on Sunday.
