With just a few days left until Apple’s iPhone 6s event kicks off, many smartphone resellers have special offers meant to tempt existing iPhone owners who may be looking to upgrade to the iPhone 6s.
Companies like Gazelle and UpgradeSwap revealed their iPhone guarantee prices earlier this week, but these aren’t the only places where you can trade in your iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 5s and older models to earn money toward buying the iPhone 6s.

Some services will handle the entire sale procedure for you, assisting you throughout the process, while others include more hassles, such as having to find a buyer and ship the goods yourself. Here’s a rundown of some of your best options:
Glyde
Glyde is a peer-to-peer marketplace for second-hand devices, and the company is ready to send you a shipping kit so that you can quickly sell your device. Glyde says it currently offers prices that are typically 10% to 20% higher than trade-in offers from Gazelle or Apple, even after the launch of the new iPhones.
Here’s what you can expect to get from an old iPhone on Glyde.com:
- iPhone 5 – $100-$169
- iPhone 5C – $92-$174
- iPhone 5S – $175-$261
- iPhone 6 – $275-$510
- iPhone 6 Plus – $335-$569
Orchard
Canadian startup Orchard is another place that can help you sell your used iPhone. The company has an app for the iPhone that can help you analyze and price a used iPhone based on what identical phones are selling for on other marketplaces. The app is available to U.S. buyers as well – just check this link.
Orchard says that it can offer 70% more on a 64BG iPhone 5s than Gazelle. While it doesn’t list specific prices on its website, the company provided BGR with the following quotes for old iPhones, from the iPhone 4 through to last year’s iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.
Orchard said that its mobile app allows it to be very responsive to market prices so that it can offer the best prices, even for broken devices.
NextWorth
One other online iPhone trade-in service that you can check out is NextWorth. The company also says it’s ready to offer better prices for your iPhone than Gazelle. According to NextWorth, the iPhone 6 is worth up to $430, and the iPhone 6 Plus can get you up to $480 on its website, or $40 more than Gazelle’s best offers.
The company says it has seen a 65% increase in total trade-in quotes compared to this time last year, suggesting there’s an even higher interest for this year’s new iPhone than last year.

eBay
You might have to set up your own auctions on eBay and deal with buyers, but using this route might get you more money for your old iOS device than any other service.
The company noted that last year, the best time to sell the iPhone 5s was in the 10 days leading up to Apple’s announcement, when resellers were making around $434 for the handset. eBay further added that iPhone 5 sales jumped 22.7% on eBay as owners were looking to discard their hardware.
The company has set up a way to list older devices on eBay even faster, saying the entire process needs just 30 seconds of your time – just visit http://www.ebay.com/sell/phones.jsf to try it out.
