For the remainder of 2015, Android fans preparing to upgrade will have plenty of devices to choose from, but two of the latest phones stand out in the crowd: the Galaxy Note 5 and the OnePlus 2. One is a phablet from the most popular Android phone maker in the world and the other comes from an independent company making waves in the industry.
So how do the two phones stack up against one another?

It’s worth noting up front that these two phones are in markedly different price ranges, especially if you decide to pay for the Note 5 in full up front. For example, on Verizon’s 24 month plan, you’ll be paying $29 a month, which adds up to $696 over the course of two years. On the other hand, the 32GB model of the OnePlus 2 will run you just $389.
As for the specifications, there’s no denying that the beefy Note 5 is a more powerful device. It features a 2K display, runs at 2.1GHz and has an extra gigabyte of RAM. The 5.5-inch 1080p display of the OnePlus 2 is going to pale in comparison, but not everyone needs a 2560 x 1440 display on their phone.
For many users, it’s simply going to come down to two factors: 1) the price, and 2) the fact that the only way to get a OnePlus 2 at the moment is through the company’s invite system.
