After this weekend, True Detective’s rocky second season will finally be over. But despite the fact that many of us haven’t been all that enthused with season 2, there’s no question that it’s preferable to have a suspenseful HBO drama to watch on Sunday night than not. Sadly, that’s exactly what we’ll have to contend with for a short while, until The Leftovers returns in October.

On Wednesday, HBO shared the first full-length trailer for the second season of The Leftovers, featuring several members of the original cast who have made their way to Miracle, Texas. According to previous reports, the show is undergoing a minor reboot as it travels south, attempting to fix some of the issues that plagued the first season.
As for the plot of season 2, the trailer doesn’t reveal much, but we do know that not a single soul departed from the town of Miracle when the event occurred. Although that’s a hopeful thread, the trailer makes it look like we’re in for just as much sorrow and misery in Texas as we experienced in New York.
