Not only is the HTC One M9 a great-looking phone with amazing build quality, but it also packs some interesting new features built on top of Android as well.

Some of them are related to the way the phone can handle calls for you depending on your gestures. For example, lifting the phone will automatically answer the incoming call, while flipping it over will mute it. Furthermore, to lower incoming call volume all you have to do is to pick the phone up. Similarly, the phone will automatically increase ring volume when it detects it’s in your pocket or purse.

Other smart features include Smart Folders, which will provide location-based shortcuts to apps based on your apps preference for a certain location, and Motion Launch, which lets you launch specific events when turning the phone on from sleep.

In addition to these features, the HTC One M9 also comes with customization options that let you easily select themes for the handset via the Themes app or create your own themes based on your color preferences. You can further personalize the phone by changing ringtones, notifications and alarm sounds and customizing the Quick Settings layout and the navigation buttons.

There are several camera tricks on the HTC One M9 as well, including taking pictures with volume buttons, using Bokeh mode, taking selfies by simply saying “Cheese!”, manually adjusting camera settings and saving custom camera modes, make animated GIFs and add animated elements to photos.
