HTC still planning to get first Android phone out by the end of this year

Android has had its share of hiccups and roadblocks, and it’s been so long since the platform was announced that we’ve begun to wonder if it will ever see the light of day. One of the biggest names in the Open Handset Alliance is HTC, who has long been planning to get an Android-based handset out of the door by the end of 2008. Thankfully, despite numerous delays and setbacks for both Google and HTC, they’re claiming that they’re still on track to release an Android phone by the end of Q4 of this year. As no other manufacturers seem to be stepping up, this could well be te first Android handset on the market, period. While we’re not sure if this will be the HTC Dream super-phone, we’re still confident that the Taiwanese manufacturer will have some nice tricks up their sleeves for this landmark release.
