There’s nothing more refreshing than zipping downhill on a bicycle at a high speed… until a woodland creature suddenly leaps out in front of you and you crash into it. YouTube user Silas Patlove was riding his bike down a fairly steep slope around Sausalito, California when all of a sudden a deer jumped onto the road. He crashed into the animal and flew off his bike… and his bike’s Fly6 camera caught it all.

“Although I don’t remember it, I landed on my back, and hit the back of my Giro helmet, which probably saved me from serious brain injury,” Patlove writes. “Although I had a mild concussion with a bit of memory loss around the event, I am very grateful to have escaped feeling only a little banged up. I cannot speak to the deer’s injuries.”
