Google knows that it’s a bummer when your phone has no Wi-Fi or LTE connection. Because of this, it’s hidden a game in its Chrome mobile browser that you can play when your phone isn’t connected to the web.

How do you access this game, do you ask? It’s quite simple:

  • First, make sure you have the latest version of Chrome installed onto your Android device.
  • Next, go to the Settings menu and turn off both your Wi-Fi and mobile data connections.
  • Next, open up a new tab in Chrome and try to go to a webpage. You’ll be given a message that you are offline that also features an image of a dinosaur above it.
  • Click on the dinosaur and all of a sudden he’ll be running through a desert area filled with cacti that you’ll have to jump over to score points.

There’s really nothing spectacular about the game itself, obviously, although it is strangely addictive as the dinosaur will keep running faster the longer you play it and at some point you’ll basically be doing nothing but tapping on your display getting him to jump.

That said: If you’re stuck in an area with no data connectivity, there are worse ways to spend your time than on a dumb Flappy Bird-style game.
