One of the most surprising announcements Google made when launching the highly anticipated Nexus 6 was that no less than five U.S. carriers would be selling the handset at launch including the main four mobile operators, a first in Nexus smartphone history. Since then, Google made it clear that it plans to sell the Nexus 6 mostly through carrier deals rather than the Google Play Store, and that the more expensive Nexus 6 should sell even better than predecessors, as people are more likely to buying it on-contract with a carrier.

However, one Redditor has already noticed something strange on a Nexus 6 support page: the absence of Verizon from the supported carriers. Google and its carrier partners are yet to announce launch dates for the Nexus 6, and it’s not clear why Verizon is missing from that page — it could be just a typo, as ha7on speculates on Reddit.
Under the “networks and compatible carriers section,” Google says the Nexus 6 is “compatible with a variety of carriers, including those listed below.” The company then lists “T-Mobile, Sprint, AT&T, USC, Bell, Rogers, Telus, Telcel” for North America, with Verizon nowhere in sight.
However, it looks as though Droid Life has put this mystery to rest because it just received its own review unit of the device that just happens to be a Verizon version of the device. In short, the Nexus 6 works on Verizon’s network right out of the box, as this video below shows.
For what it’s worth, Verizon is still listed on the Google’s official Nexus 6 page, though Verizon has yet to announce the handset on its website. In all, though, this just seems like an accidental omission and not a sign that Verizon won’t be supporting the Nexus 6.
