For some people, the thought of switching from one leading mobile platform to the other is terribly daunting. On the surface, iOS and Android are very different operating systems. While they share some similar features and each one is regularly accused of stealing things from the other, there are some fairly significant differences that can seem overwhelming.

As we’ve discussed in the past, however, the switch doesn’t have to be as traumatic as many people suggest it is. For those considering making the jump from Android to the iPhone 6 once it is released — or to any other iPhone, for that matter — the following collection of tips should definitely help ease the transition.

FROM EARLIER: Here’s what happens when a longtime iPhone user switches to Android

ZDNet’s Liam Tung on Thursday afternoon put together a solid list of 11 tips that could make switching from Android to iOS an absolute breeze.

It should be noted, though, that many of the tips relate specifically to iOS 8. So, for example, tips covering things like upcoming third-party keyboard support, widget support in the Notification Center and a note about Apple’s “walled garden” beginning to open up won’t come into play until mid-September when Apple releases iOS 8 to the public.

The list still has the potential to help Android users breathe a huge sigh of relief if they’re planning to make the leap once Apple finally releases iPhones with larger displays later this year.
