Shortly after announcing a special store for its Fleksy keyboard that will help users further customize their experience with the “fastest smartphone keyboard in the world,” the company is back with another significant update that brings official support for Arabic and that is also expected to add support for Chinese soon as well.
“With more than 100,000 requests for Arabic language support, the company aims to strengthen its footing in the EMEA region with today’s release. The aggressive language expansion by Fleksy has already brought the total number of languages to 40, up from just 2 earlier this year,” the company said.
“As the keyboard space is heating up, there has been incredible demand to bring Fleksy to different markets worldwide, both from consumers as well as OEMs. Today’s release shows our commitment to serve all markets and demonstrates how our technology can be applied to any language, and bring a refreshingly better typing experience on any platform, including iOS later this fall,” Fleksy CEO Kosta Eleftheriou added.
However, the Arabic keyboard support is still in beta at this time. Similarly, Fleksy is currently taking registrations for the beta version of Fleksy for China and it’s already demoed Chinese support on a Xiaomi Mi 3 phone.
In addition to Arabic keyboard support, the new update also brings four new premium themes.

In addition to Arabic, the company demonstrated for the first time how Chinese input will work, and opened up its Chinese Beta registration page. The demos were performed on a Xiaomi Mi 3 phone, as well as a Samsung Gear smartwatch. “There is a massive market in Asia, and typing on small screens is an even bigger problem in that part of the world. We have been working hard to create the next step in the evolution of the keyboard, and today we wanted to share some of that progress with our growing fan base in China and beyond” said COO Ioannis Verdelis.
