Comcast may be one of the two most hated companies in America, and it may have terrible customer service according to most accounts, but it turns out that when it comes to customer service in the United States, Comcast is only the sixth-worst company when it comes to providing support to subscribers. The news could be a tiny boost for Comcast — earlier this week, the company had a customer care-related incident that went viral when one of its employees was recorded while he relentlessly tried to prevent a customer, who ended up being a well-known tech blogger, from canceling his service.
Online website Ranker has a “companies with the worst customer service” survey on its website, which got more than 14,000 votes from over 2,800 voters. Surprisingly, Comcast is only the sixth worst company on the list, following other well-known companies including American Airlines at No. 5, followed by Walmart, Bank of America, AT&T and, finally, Time Warner Cable at No. 1.
Assuming the Comcast-Time Warner Cable merger is approved, these rankings may very well change, as it’s only to be expected that the resulting cable monster will want to offer the same kind of customer service across the board, to all of its subscribers.
