There’s something to be said for having obtainable goals. Kickstarter is infamous for its failed projects, instances where creators were too ambitious, too deceitful or too lazy to follow through, but if you’d like to help support a sure thing, Zack Danger Brown is currently trying to raise $10 to make a potato salad. He hasn’t decided what kind yet, but the campaign has already crossed $300, prompting Brown to create a few stretch goals.
Here are the current stretch goals, most of which have already been reached:
$35 – I will make 4x as much Potato Salad. I know $40 isn’t 4x $10, but you guys have earned it.
$75 – Pizza Party!
$100 – I will try two different Potato Salad recipes.
$250 – Better mayonnaise (from the natural foods section)
$300 – Call a chef to get a better recipe
$350 – Make way more potato salad and probably do a third recipe.
Every Kickstarter has inherent risks — Brown’s potato salad is no different. As he explains: “It might not be that good. It’s my first potato salad.”
You probably have a few questions for Zack Danger Brown, but don’t worry, he’s way ahead of you with a pretty extensive FAQ section. And no, there won’t be any potato salad at the pizza party.
The campaign will be live until August 2nd, so you’ve still got plenty of time to decide which backer reward you’d like to pledge toward. Personally, I’m strongly considering that potato-salad themed hat.
