It’s not unusual for email services to occasionally go down. But to have them go down for days on end without any official estimate of when they’ll be working again? That can only happen through the magic of Time Warner Cable. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that customers who use TWC’s Road Runner webmail service have had problems sending and receiving messages in a timely manner for days on end and TWC isn’t offering any updates on when it will be fixed except to say, “we… continue to make this a top priority.”

TWC first identified this problem on June 11th and the company says that it’s apparently related to a glitch in its database. However, the Journal Sentinel says that customers had been complaining about it for days before TWC acknowledged the problem, which means that some TWC customers have had trouble sending and receiving messages for more than a week now. The Journal Sentinel talked with some TWC customers who were affected by the outage and their comments were predictably hilarious.

“I would rather go to the dentist and have a root canal, with no Novocaine, than call Time Warner,” said one. “We’re paying for their down time and getting no credit for it.”

These customers shouldn’t worry too much — we’re sure that all these issues will be solved once TWC gets bought up by Comcast and its legendary reputation for customer service.
