After an Android keyboard app sort-of launched on iOS devices – SwiftKey’s keyboard tech is only available inside a special Note app – another Android keyboard is taking iOS by storm, and this time around the company behind it wants iOS app developers to integrate it in their iOS apps. Fleksy on Thursday announced that its iOS SDK has made it out of beta, and it’s available to any developer that wants to offer an alternative keyboard to Apple’s default iOS keyboard.

Fleksy will work on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, bringing several of its smart features to Apple’s mobile platform. For example, iOS device users will be able to seamlessly switch between the default keyboard and Fleksy, with the later letting them type without looking at the screen, “using patent-pending technology that analyzes where users tap their touchscreens to determine the words they intend to type.” Fleksy offers text prediction and autocorrect features and is available in a variety of colors inside the app.

The Fleksy SDK will be available to developers as a free download, and a free Fleksy iOS app is available from the App Store to users interested in this keyboard technology. However, just like SwiftKey Note, Fleksy will not be able to replace the default keyboard on iOS at a system-wide level.

The Fleksy app has received “over a quarter million downloads on Android,” having a 4.0 average score from over 8,700 reviews.
