Nokia leaked it, Nokia announced it, and now the FCC has given the Nokia N95 8GB NAM its official Don-like blessing. As our initial information dictated, it looks like the newest addition to the ever-growing N95 family is right on pace for a mid-February release. The chain of events might be a little odd considering the official announcement came prior to FCC approval. Maybe Nokia is just that confident when it comes to building handsets, or maybe it has to do with the fact that the latest N95 is a spitting image of its European sibling both inside and out. The oh-so-important difference of course being that the upcoming NAM version sports 850/1900 MHz HSDPA and is compatible with AT&T’s high-speed 3G and 3.5G networks. Cave dwellers somehow unaware of the N95 8GB’s specs will be pleased to learn that 8GB of internal storage, a 5 megapixel camera with Zeiss optics, 30 fps DVD-quality video recording, internal GPS and the kitchen sink are among its key features. Already available for pre-order on several sites, $750-$800 will get you into the party as soon as the guest of honor arrives. This is now the fourth version of the N95 (yes, N95-4) and if you include the renamed Japanese variant due out in April, that makes five. Hey, we set the over / under at seven back in December so the smart money is still on the over!
