Microsoft is reportedly working on a new soft keyboard for its Windows Phone operating system, according to a leaked presentation obtained by WMPoweruser. The keyboard features a curved layout and is designed for one-handed thumb typing. The keys are grouped together and resemble old T9 keyboards, although Microsoft’s new virtual keypad employs a QWERTY layout. A purported Microsoft presentation demonstrating the keyboard’s capabilities does so on an HTC Trophy, possibly indicating support for Windows Phone 7.8 as well as Windows Phone 8.
