One of the first things you’re going to want to do when you start playing No Man’s Sky is upgrade to a new ship. As you’d expect, buying a brand new spaceship isn’t cheap, so you’re going to have to save up units (the in-game currency) before you can make an extravagant purchase. Normally, this would take hours of resource gathering and trading on the galactic market, but some clever players have found an exploit that allows them to duplicate the game’s most valuable items.

DON’T MISS: Nine years later, the fanmade ‘Pokemon Uranium’ is finally complete

If you don’t want to know how this exploit works, close this tab now.

Alright, if you’re still here, I assume you want to know how to get rich quick. Basically, you need to get yourself killed, restore a previous save and then find your grave from your death. Here’s how it works, according to Eurogamer:

  • Clear out a few slots in your ship’s inventory.
  • Have an item you want to duplicate in your inventory (i.e. Atlas Stone, Warp Cell, piles of Gold, etc.).
  • Fly into space from the system’s space station and kill yourself (attacking a freighter might be the easiest way to do this).
  • When you respawn in the space station, enter the menu, head to the ‘Options’ tab and select the ‘Reload previous’ button below the ‘Saved Game Data’ header to reload the last save.
  • All the items in your inventory before your death will still be there, but you can also fly back out into space and pick up all of the items from your grave, effectively duplicating everything in your inventory.

You can watch a video of the exploit in action below:

In all likelihood, Hello Games will patch this exploit out in the very near future, so if you want to take advantage of it, you might want to do so soon.
