Images of HTC Incredible HD leak in a controlled fashion

Hardware

It looks like the boys and girls from HTC and/or Verizon Wireless are trying to gin-up a little press for the yet-to-be-released HTC Incredible HD. Late yesterday, a series of leaked photos — that all seemed to happen within several hours of each other — began circulating the major technology blogs. Engadget, Gizmodo, Android Central, Slash Gear, Mobile Crunch, and your friends here at BGR were all sent a few small images showcasing one small piece of the HTC device. If you want to see images of the entire device that we published months ago, you can check it out in our gallery. If you want to have a peek at some of the leaked images that were sent around to multiple blogs yesterday, hit the jump… we have a little collage waiting for you.

Here are the two images sent in to BGR (Android Central was sent the same two images):

Here are some of the other images sent to other blogs around the web:

Those original pics were leaked months ago. Maybe this thing launches the day after its announced at CES….If this thing is packin VZW ‘s LTE, Gingerbread, and a super Amoled, I’ll be all over it.

    • zach the android man pratto

i doubt there will be super amoled on an htc, samsung would have to sell it to them and they dont like doing that

  • Donny

Neat…looks like every HTC phone….but is it NET NEUTRALITY compliant?

  • grrr

If it’s not dual core, I’m not interested. If the screen res is not higher than 800×480, I’m not interested.

If it doesn’t cup the bawls, I’m not interested.

Move along, Blackberry morons. Nothing for you to see here. Just some fancy-shmancy new-fangled thingamabob. Back to your low-brow, Paris-Hilton-approved devices.

    • Mark

lol must be alot of morons for blackberry posting earnings or maybe your the moron. Still see hell of alot more people with Blackberrys than Android devices but nice try again.

Looks very nice! Sprint and Verizon are pumping out some great phones… and by great phones I mean Sprint needs to get their asses together again!

    • Jesse813

Agreed, gimme the the Sprint version of the Nexus S!!! ( not the plastic teenage girl feel T-Mobile edition)

      • http://www.facebook.com/JustinBauder Justin Bauder

        “The girl feel T-mobile edition.”

Well, without bashing your ability to know English grammar, I regret to inform you that even if your shitty carrier EVER got a Nexus branded phone, it would be the same, or worst than the T-mobile edition.

i.e. – “Want a Nexus One? Check out the Evo on Sprint!”

Wasn’t that the biggest lie from google ever…the HTC EVO wishes it were a N1 every day of its life :D

      • Guest123

LOL. You complain about grammer and then say “worst than the T-mobile edition.” Fail.

  • Bigbuddha

That is not the same phone as the earlier leaked photo’s. Look at the power button on both sets. There is a small cut out area on the black part of the case in the photo’s from yesterday, not present on the older pics.

    • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WiQmQhA-OrM Walter Sobchak

Am I not seeing something right? it looks like there’s a cut out on both.

I think that’s the only exception. Everything else matches up perfectly, especially the USB port to the side of the kickstand and right under the black, rubbery grip on the back of the device.

      • Frank

I don’t think that is the USB that is HDMI

    • JoeBold

yep, got it on first sight. its very obvious, since it is close to the silver front, even if its its on the black finish. i wonder if the crew at BGR noticed it as well, and still didn’t make any mention of it.

Too bad its battery will only get you through half the day.

Doubtful. LTE is 700mhz not 2.5ghz like WIMAX.

Also LTE has far better building penetration than WIMAX.

Supposedly LTE will be BETTER battery life than EVDO CDMA

  • Bringit

Will it get gingerbread in 2015?

    • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jCJLK3KgzyQ mfranke

No reason it won’t ship with Gingerbread.

HTC Incredible got a very quick upgrade from 2.1 to 2.2. It was the third phone to get it.

      Nexus One
      HTC Evo
      HTC Incredible

So even in the unlikely event it ships with 2.2, it should get 2.3 pretty quick.

Seriously…the Evo is a fantastic phone..truly the first phone I’ve seen that could double as a tablet, and phone..and still be manageable/portable.

If this is anything like it, I’m ON IT. iPhone who?

  • Ram C

Why aren’t android phones of the same build quality and made of nice materials like the iPhone?

    • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WiQmQhA-OrM Walter Sobchak

So you still have something to get on the internet and piss and moan about.

    • Guest

because Foxconn cornered the market on sweatshop labor in China.

Scale of economies… By forcing every iPhone users everywhere to use the same phone factories are much more efficient and material prices plummet when bout in bulk. The forefather of the modern assembly line once said “You can have a Model T in any color you would like, as long as it’s black”. This is the motto Apple lives by but ironically only the iPhone 2G and 4 really stood out amongst the top phones in terms of design at release. I prefer choosing hardware that suits my personal needs over looking fashionable. Iphone users who want better battery life, protection, or alternative input methods are forced to buy expensive cases made of much lower quality material that increases the size and weight a great deal more than if they were originaly included.

Hm… my Nexus One’s build quality is excellent. As far as nice materials, are you referring to the easily scratched glass and metal signal-losing antenna on the iPhone4? Because the N1 is constructed mainly of aluminum and has a pretty nice AMOLED screen. For a device that released a couple of months BEFORE the iPhone4, I think it stacks up quite handily.

  • BrokeThoughts

Is that microUSB port on the side of the device? Where do users here prefer to have the port located? I prefer the bottom, like how it is on the EVO …

Looks like HTC has learned their lesson, and is recessing the camera a bit. That and battery size are the only real design flaws of the Evo IMO.

  • Anonymous

Love the design of it. I want one!

Add an AMOLED display and this would a great phone for me. Well, maybe a dual core processor too. I guess I’m getting greedy.

    DUAL CORE PLEASE
