HTC-Droid-Incredible-16

Hear ye, hear ye. HTC DROID Incredible owners with a hankering for the “#” rejoice, as the good folks over at Unrevoked have added Verizon’s latest Android offering to their rooting lineup. The Unrevoked site does warn:

“This hack is for power users only right now, and is not as simple as unrevoked is. We are working on expanding the race window.”

So be careful, and if you do decide to give your Incredible a good old fashion rootin’, do let us know how it goes in the comments.

Why do you guys keep comparing BGR to Engadget? Everyone knows Engadget is a bigger site but who the fuck cares? I still like BRG better!! So STFU with these post already.

It doesn’t look all that incredible to me. Hemroid OS FTL.

Well I bet BG isn’t complaining seeing as he’s a millionaire, lol.

Isn’t this supposed to be about rooting the Incredible? I for one would give it a try….if I can ever get one…HTC and Samsung need to figure out how to get these phone manufactured ASAP

Who cares which gets it first. What matters is they report it. I go to two sites fir my mobile info. BGR and Droid-Life. If BGR decided not to post stuff like this because so and so already did, then I would stop going here and move on to the competitors site. That have to post everything in the genre. Its just bad business to do otherwise.

Thanks BGR for being a quality source for a long time now. Keep it up.

Early reports on some forums is that this is reproducible but it is NOT permanent (does not survive reboot). I am, however, pleased at the prospect of possibly getting 2.2 earlier than 2018.

Droid lovers are so happy, now the can get the rom they wanted. If u love your os, why are guys rooting the phone? Isn’t great and the best? You can customize anything on it?

    • SKINNI

Thats like iPhone owners saying it is the best, yet all of them jailbreak them. Im ANDROID but i respect what the iPhone did for the game. This wouldnt be without jailbreaking though & if thats ok then surely so is rooting. Its just an improvment to each

  • Yaamean

Well, Overclocking / Prelease 2.2 builds / custom themes and ROMS are all good reasons to root for me. The basic user would never know the difference between a rooted / unrooted phone.

I know its for “advanced users”, but im having trouble rooting. google/droid forums dont seem to break down the steps… how do i get to the screen that types adb…… I downloaded a terminal emulater but it just says permission denied when attempting to type. i think i got into recovery mode after the red triangle. but after that im stuck….
      Anyone? Thanks

  • ProudiPhoneOwner

    LOL…gotta set the alarm a little earlier…

  • Edwin

They got the info from Engadget, so yeah, it was posted after Engadget. Do you people even read the articles or just the headlines?

  • Matt

    Who cares??????????????

There are a lot of us who don’t visit igadget.com and just visit here.

  • Bob

I hate engadget because of the fag J, what a freaking idiot.
Their site is poorly set up, crashes a lot of older pc’s with shitty flash or code.
It just a panty waisted apple site.
