Tony Hawk: RIDE now available in North America

Dust off your old pair of Vans and get ready to party like it’s 1995, because Tony Hawk: RIDE has finally been released in North America. Available for the Nintendo Wii, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, the game’s main attraction lies in its wireless skateboard controller that’s chockful of motion sensors and allows players to more or less feel that they themselves are on a real skateboard and part of the game. The game and skateboard are bundled together for $119.99, a far cry cheaper than your hospital bill will be after playing this game drunk at your office Christmas party.

I could never skateboard and I seriously doubt I could use this thing either.

Plus, wouldn’t it be hard to concentrate on the monitor with all the hopping and jumping around?

  • deedoo

If you can ddr you can skate on this crap

Haha, I was going to say something to that effect. But seriously? I could see myself falling off that thing. Seriously. Then they’ll have to make a remote jacket-like device for people so they don’t smash their monitors.

droid’s hardware and software were too ambitious for motorola’s quality control.

only to lames like this loser, who can’t even spell spicy right…

  • Wow

Wow how much did you guys get paid to put up this blatant advertising as a blog post? Atleast have the decency to mark it..

    • will

I believe that this is not an advertised post but rather it was posted here because the technology of a skateboard controller is new the field of video games…I may be wrong but wouldn’t BG be posting this if it were advertisement and it would have the little advertisement banner next to it’s name on the homepage like other advertised posts have. This is a respectable website not some garbage 1.2 tech blog.

I don’t agree with your post, but reading “ageing hipster doufus” made me laugh out loud.

  • maxpayne79

Tony hawk sucks. He looks like an ageing hipster doufus. I seen him one time put on all his skater gear on some tv show I was watching, then he proceeded to kind of float around and not do a whole lot. I don’t know, maybe he was cool at one time, but he’s like 40 now and what bothers me the most is that its guys like this guy that give permission to these 35 year or skaters that I see boarding down queen street embarrassing themselves to the point where, I have to roll down my window and yell at them to ‘grow up and get a job’. Like seriously, skateboarding is for kids man, not for some ageing momo who’s a p*ssy and doesn’t wanna take chances in life. Everyone wants to be this guy tony, but ain’t no one got any idea of how to get potentially there. Buddy should add a disclaimer to everything he sells stating that, “I am a professional and I made money from boarding because well, eventually someone had too and I just happen to be that someone. Please do not make this ur life goal, stop running red lights when cars are trying to make a right turn because they will run ur ass over, and get a real job.” lol

Do you feel that same way about other pro sports athletes? Hey Lebron James go get a real job, right? In a world when entertainment can make you big bucks, why wouldn’t someone who is one of the best at a given trait not cash in on it? You just sound like a bitter old man.

      • Matt Thompson

..in all reality, professional athletes are grossly overpaid. They play a game and people watch. They sell seats, so really, they’re sales-people!…in a, uhm, roundabout way.

    • clien.t

So. Your parent wouldn’t let you have a skateboard when you were a kid, huh? Need a hug?

ironic that that the ad for this device mentions “being with friends” when those who buy this device are least likely to have friends.
