Roku officially adds support for Amazon Video On Demand

General

Roku announced this morning that it would be adding Amazon Video On Demand to its portfolio of available online video content, bringing the grand total up to two. Roku owners will be able to rent or purchase movies and televisions shows from Amazon’s 40,000-title-strong Video On Demand service after an update that will be rolled out over the course of the next week to enable this service on all Roku boxes. With Netflix as the cornerstone, Amazon content as a supplement and YouTube supposedly on the way, the $99 Roku box keeps looking better and better.

This would be perfect for me, except for the fact that I have no TV and would have to hook it up to my computer. Which is, like, impossible, I think.

@JL, why dont you just stream from amazon and netflix onto your computer…?

how does amazons service rate over netflix’s cuz currently i’m getting my streaming fix from netflix on my 360.

Well, I’m impatient to have HD streaming, I guess. No indication as to when that’ll come to PC (if it will).

Woot this ain’t. Hey what is it with small business people who are always sticking their two cents in and selling stuff? Does it really need selling? Haven’t advertisers covered the item, and done their jobs? I go to church, some people do Boinc, apparently all little business people grow up trying to sell like big wig advertisers.

Hulu is a must more than Amazon

I would buy this and drop my cable in a heartbeat if they add hulu and thewb support ….. would it be pushing it to ask for justin.tv support so i can still watch my fights?? :)

to the people begging for Hulu support –contact Hulu and let your voice be heard! They just recently forced Boxee to remove Hulu from their app (mac app that can also be used on Apple TVs)
