Virtual reality is all the rage these days, and if you have a VP headset then you’ll definitely want to check out a new video posted by AccuWeather that gives puts you right in the middle of a tornado chase. The action was shot with a 360fly camera near Wray, Colorado earlier this week and the storm chasers drive very close to it so we can see the base of the tornado tearing up its surroundings.

FROM EARLIER: Watch a drone do backflips without spilling a single drop of soda

While we’ve seen plenty of wild tornado chasing videos before, this one is frighteningly immersive when you watch it through a VR headset as you feel like you’re there looking at the action live. The tornado’s cyclonic movements are so mesmerizing at times that you almost forget just how destructive and dangerous it really is.

Even if you don’t have a VR headset, this video is still impressive if you’re watching in on your desktop browser — just make sure to use your cursor to turn the video to the proper angle so you can actually see the tornado.

Check it out for yourself below — we’re sure it’s going to be the first of many VR tornado videos we’ll see in the coming years.
