Have you ever studied Welsh? Probably not, and with good reason: It looks like a language that’s been developed entirely by a group of four cats who take turns stamping on a laptop keyboard. Because of this, we weren’t at all surprised to learn that the longest place name in all of Europe is in Wales and it’s called “Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch.”

Now, if you are a weatherman in the United Kingdom and it’s your job to talk about the weather in this particular location, what would you do? Channel 4 weatherman Liam Dutton, himself a native of Wales, took on this task with enthusiasm during a recent forecast in which he pronounced the 57-letter location without missing a beat.
“It may be a mouthful to say, but Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch in north west Wales was one of the warmest places in the UK today,” wrote in explaining why it subjected Dutton to the daunting Welsh name, which is the first word we can recall that features four consecutive Ls.
