If you’re a Comcast customer, you may have noticed that you couldn’t watch some of your favorite shows at a couple of different points this week. And you weren’t alone — Consumerist reports that Comcast TV outages were widespread this week and that the company has issued a formal apology for the service disruptions, which were apparently so bad that many customers couldn’t get through to Comcast’s customer service lines to complain because they were being flooded with so many calls.

“We know some of our customers may have missed their favorite shows off and on over the past few days and were unable to easily reach our customer care representatives for assistance and we’re really sorry,” the company says in its explanation. “We’ve identified the cause and our engineers are working to fully restore our services. Additionally, we will be reaching out to impacted customers to ensure their service issues have been resolved and they are satisfied with their service.”

Comcast hasn’t offered a technical explanation for why its services went down but it’s good to know that things are relatively back to normal and you will hopefully be able to watch your shows tonight without a major disruption.
