It looks like Samsung, Sony, LG and all the other big-name television vendors out there didn’t even have to bother showing up to CES 2014 because Vizio just stole the show… according to Vizio, at least. The company’s new high-end Reference Series TVs have just been unveiled and Vizio has boldly claimed that its new R Series set is the “best TV in the world.” With a claim like that Vizio had better have some impressive numbers to back it up. And believe it or not, it does.

While we obviously can’t say this is the best TV in the world, Vizio’s new R Series features 4K ultra HD resolution, 10-bit color, 384 active LED zones (which means 384 zones of local dimming), Dolby HDR sound, VM50 Ultra HD Motion, 120fps support and an integrated 5.1 sound bar with a wireless subwoofer. It’s quite a package from the scrappy vendor that is best known for its affordable flat panel TVs.

The R Series doesn’t have pricing or a release date yet but with two models measuring 65 and 120 inches, we can expect a pretty steep price tag along with them. Of course the company also unveiled a variety of more affordable TVs at CES this year, and they’re all detailed on Vizio’s website.

Here’s a video of the new ultra HD R Series TVs in action:
