No, it’s not quite as exciting as the Touch Pro2 of course, but Verizon has just announced another addition to its ever-expanding portfolio in the Nokia 7705 Twist. To say the Twist is a polarizing handset is an understatement of immense proportions — the messaging phone features a form factor that is pretty much unlike anything we’ve seen before. As you can see above, the chubby square form rotates open on its bottom right corner to reveal a full QWERTY keypad. Is the Twist a niche phone? Most definitely. Tweens looking for a messaging phone that will stand out from the crowd will surely find it appealing however, and the decent price point will definitely make it attainable. The Nokia 7705 Twist goes on sale online this Sunday September 13th for $99 after a $50 mail-in rebate on a 2-year contract. VZW stores will then offer it a week later on Monday September 21st. Hit the jump for spec highlights.
