Tesla is by far the most exciting car company in the world right now, as founder and CEO Elon Musk continues to lead the charge away from gas-powered vehicles. With one car currently on the road and another two known to be in development, Musk took to Twitter earlier this week to tease what some believed might be a fourth model currently in the works.

As it turns out, however, the Tesla “D” Musk has been teasing might not be a new model at all. Instead, a photograph taken by an unknowing passer-by may have just spoiled Tesla’s big reveal, which is scheduled to take place on October 9th.

Tesla Motors Club forum user “adelman” on Thursday posted a photo he says was captured by a friend. The photo appears to shows  Tesla “Model S P85D” being charged at Inyokern Airport in California.

Tesla currently sells a Model S P85, leading to the obvious conclusion that the leaked car is the rumored performance-enhanced version of Tesla’s current sports car.

The user who posted the photo didn’t have much to offer, though he did say in a subsequent post that the image was taken by his friend who is a corporate pilot. She also captured a photo of the side of the mysterious Tesla, though adleman did not post it on the forum. “It looks like a stock P85+ (grey wheels, red brakes),” he wrote.
