T-Mobile is launching a new device and service that could be hit or miss (we’re going with miss). It’s not a phone or phone accessory of any kind, but it’s a digital picture frame that will have a SIM card and phone number. Kinda stupid, right? The reason it’s not the brightest idea is because it costs $10 a month for the service – not to mention the cost of the device itself which is at a pricey $100. The picture frame will have a SIM card and its own number and the pictures will arrive via MMS. So, if you’re shooting it with your lowly 2.0 megapixel camera, don’t expect stunning quality. Calling it the “Cameo” (for its assumed brief appearance on the market), a consumer will be able to take a picture from their phone, send it to the picture frame, and it will pop up on display. While it’s a novel idea, there’s no reason they couldn’t have made it a Wi-Fi capable device and just send pictures via email or Internet.
