A new program, called “Family Winner,” may take all the fun drama out of the whole divorce process. It’s a computer program designed to settle marital assets and eliminate the need to argue over every little knick-knack and detail. The couple each assign points to the objects up for grabs, placing importance on every piece. The obvious ones are settled, and any item you lose nets you more points to assign to the remaining objects. Once everything is settled in the “trade-off map,” in theory, everyone wins. At this point, the software is only in prototype, and no word on whether they’ve figured out how to get those years of your married life back. Heh.
