10 years before he drunkenly celebrated his company’s acquisition by Apple for a reported $3.2 billion, Dr. Dre actually popped up via iChat at one of Apple’s events and congratulated Steve Jobs on the success of both the iPod and the iTunes Store. A video of the event, flagged by 9to5Mac, shows a decidedly more sober Dre telling Jobs that he’s happy that the iPod has been such a success because it means “no more carrying big duffle bags full of CDs.” 9to5Mac notes that Dre was actually instrumental in convincing artists such as Eminem to allow Apple sell their music over the web on the iTunes Store, so it seems that ties between Dre and Cupertino go back much further than just the past few weeks. You can watch the full video of Jobs and Dre chatting below.
