Sprint CFO Joe Euteneuer said at an investor conference on Tuesday that the company has a deal in place to offer a future Apple iPhone that supports 4G LTE, The Dow Jones reported. The CFO declined to say if Apple had such an iPhone planned, however Euteneuer revealed that the company’s agreement with Apple is similar to both its rivals — AT&T and Verizon. “If you make the assumption that they launch a device at a similar time that they did last year, you’re basically done with the major markets,” Euteneuer said in regards to Sprint’s 4G LTE buildout, noting that the carrier plans to initially cover roughly 100 million Americans. “So I don’t think we are really disadvantaged at all.” Sprint has taken a $15.5 billion gamble on Apple’s iPhone and has said it might not turn a profit on the device until 2015. The CFO’s comments come after Verizon CTO David Small also suggested that a 4G LTE-equipped iPhone is going to launch this year.
