Sprint, you never fail to surprise us. The most yellow wireless provider in all the land has announced that beginning next Tuesday, all phone based internet searches will automatically take the handset’s geographic location into account. The location will be tabulated by way of cell tower triangulation, and provide location-based search results to Sprint subscribers. The service relies on a relationship between Sprint and Microsoft that provides Windows Live search bars integrated into most of Sprint’s mobile browsers. Sadly, this service isn’t available for Windows Mobile based devices, so you crazy HTC Mogul owners are out of luck. Anyone with a run-of-the-mill Sprint handset looking for a bit of LBS action should be good to go come next week. Excited? We knew you would be.
