Leaked pics could be our first look at Sony’s next major flagship phone

Sony’s smartphones don’t get nearly as much hype as new flagship phones from HTC, Samsung or LG, but Sony has been doing a nice job of improving its mobile phone offerings since the launch of the Xperia Z back in 2013. Now 9to5Google has snagged some pictures off of Chinese microblogging site Weibo that purportedly show us the Xperia Z3, which is tipped to be the next major flagship phone from Sony.

9to5Google notes that based on the specs shown on the phone’s settings menu in one of the pictures, it looks like the new device will have a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor and will run on Android 4.4.4 KitKat. Other than that, though, the pics don’t really tell us what size the device will be although we imagine it will be either as big or bigger than the Xperia Z2, which featured a 5.2-inch display.
