Samsung’s (005930) list of enemies is getting shorter. The company on Tuesday decided to drop an injunction that sought to block LG Display (LPL) from using its OLED technology, the Yonahap News Agency reported. Samsung filed suit against LG after its South Korean rival was accused of stealing its advanced OLED TV display technology. In December, LG fired back with a lawsuit of its own that sought to ban sales of the Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet. While the two companies are still involved in litigation over display technology, Samsung’s withdrawal of its injunction request is seen as a move toward resolve the companies’ differences. Earlier reports indicated that executives from both companies are looking to settle the patent disputes behind closed doors.
