Samsung’s Galaxy Gear was a flop for a number of reasons and one of them was certainly its initial $300 price tag. ZDNet Korea reports that Samsung apparently knows it can’t price the Galaxy Gear 2 that high if it’s to have any hope when it launches this year, although the company is still debating over just how much to cut the smartwatch’s price. Ever since its launch, the original Galaxy Gear has seen its price cut to between $220 and $270 depending on the market so it’s likely that Samsung’s next-generation Gear will be priced somewhere in the $250 range. Samsung is expected to show off its new smartwatch at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona later this month.
