A group of approximately 20 armed men stormed one of Samsung’s key manufacturing plants in Brazil on Monday, reportedly making off with roughly $36 million worth of computers, tablets and smartphones.

Samsung has confirmed that armed robbers took control of its manufacturing facility in Sao Paulo, Brazil early Monday morning. Local authorities say the men gained access to the plant by disguising themselves as night staff, and they entered the facility shortly after midnight. They then apparently took all of the batteries from employees’ cell phones so they could not alert police, and held several employees hostage while the rest continued to work on various assembly lines.

No one was harmed during the robbery, which took about three hours according to reports. The criminals reportedly loaded the stolen goods onto seven trucks before fleeing the scene.

“We are very concerned about this incident. Fortunately, nobody was hurt. We are fully cooperating with the ongoing police investigation, and we will do our best to avoid it happening again,” Samsung said in a statement obtained by ZDNet.
