Samsung continues on U.S. warpath as Best Buy micro-stores roll out

U.S. consumers are used to seeing Apple micro-stores in their local Best Buys, and soon they’ll be just as accustomed to browsing the shelves of Samsung micro-stores across the room. The South Korea-based electronics giant announced earlier this month that it plans to open 1,400 micro-stores at Best Buy locations across the U.S., and the company just celebrated the grand opening of its first shop at Best Buy’s Union Square store in New York City.

The rollout of the new “Samsung Experience Shops” coincides with the launch of Samsung’s latest flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S4, which features a 5-inch Super AMOLED display with full HD 1080p resolution, a quad-core processor, a 13-megapixel camera and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. BGR reviewed the Galaxy S4 earlier this week and called it better than the smash hit Galaxy S III in every way.

While Best Buy’s new Samsung Experience Shops are rolling out across the country on schedule, Galaxy S4 inventory unfortunately might not arrive on schedule. Samsung said on Wednesday that initial supply of its new smartphone would be limited at launch due to overwhelming demand, and several carriers have had to push back the smartphone’s launch as a result.
