Call this one unconfirmed at best, but word on the street puts a new Samsung QWERTY slider on AT&T shelves at the end of this month. Now, don’t get too excited as this puppy isn’t exactly the handset to end all handsets, but it is one of the best looking QWERTY feature phones we’ve seen heading to AT&T so consider our interest piqued. First and foremost, it’s not a smartphone — the A877 allegedly sports Samsung’s TouchWiz UI. What it lacks in brains however, it most certainly makes up for in brawn:

  • 3.2-inch WQVGA AMOLED touchscreen
  • Slide-out QWERTY and messaging shortcut button
  • 3 megapixel camera with geotagging
  • Telenav GPS Navigator
  • Full HTML browser
  • TouchWiz user interface
  • Quadband EDGE/GSM
  • Dual band HSDPA (1900 and 850)
  • Bluetooth, MP3 player

3.2-inch AMOLED display, 3G/3.5G, 3 megapixel camera… This is definitely going to be a desirable handset amongst messaging fanatics looking for some style to go with their blister-inducing thumb speed. The source of the rumor places the A877 on AT&T shelves for a March 29th release, though no pricing is specified for the time being.

Thanks, Erich
