RIM’s ‘really cool’ BlackBerry 10 SDKs go gold

December 11th, 2012 at 1:26 PM

It’s been an agonizing wait for RIM (RIMM) fans, but the launch of BlackBerry 10 is getting tantalizingly close to becoming a reality. RIM announced on its developer support page today that all the software development kits for its upcoming BlackBerry 10 operating system have gone gold and are available for developers interested in creating apps for the new platform. RIM has BlackBerry 10 SDKs available in several different programming languages, including C/C++,  HTML5, ActionScript and Java. The Java SDK is particularly interesting because it’s been built specifically to “port existing Android apps and games to Playbook and BlackBerry 10.” RIM executives started touting their new SDKs this past fall when they released a music video that described them as “really cool.”
