After months of reported production woes, it looks like Apple will unveil a Retina-equipped iPad mini this week after all. Unnamed sources tell The Wall Street Journal that Apple is planning to show off two new iPad models this week, including the long-awaited iPad mini sequel with a Retina display and a lighter, thinner version of its classic 9.7-inch iPad. Although we’ve heard plenty of news about Apple’s planned fifth-generation iPad, news about a Retina-equipped iPad mini has been mostly mixed since Apple has reportedly been having difficulty mass producing the new device. Leaked photos of the fifth-generation iPad show that Apple is making its larger tablet look a lot more like the iPad mini, with thinner side bezels and more sharply defined edges on the casing.
