Palm may be looking to Asia Pacific for potential buyers according to the latest information coming from the ever-churning rumor mill. Reuters suggests Palm has approached Huawei two months ago to gauge the Chinese manufacturer’s interest in purchasing the once mighty company. With its strength in manufacturing and strong reputation overseas, Huawei’s acquisition of Palm would accelerate the manufacturer’s entrance into the crowded American smartphone market. But, despite being what some might call a proverbial marriage made in heaven, the talks were said to be short lived and have not progressed since. Huawei is not alone as a potential Palm suitor; other companies on the short list include Lenovo, Huawei rival ZTE, HTC, and Dell, although the later is said to have declined to enter a bid. Anyone want to wager who will be the lucky winner in this motley pool of potential Palm purchasers if it pans out?
