If you’re an owner of a OnePlus One smartphone, you have a lot to look forward to before the end of the month. In a recent forum post, OnePlus marketing specialist Braden Harwood informed customers that the official release of Android 5.0 Lollipop will be available as an OTA update on March 30th. But that’s only the second most exciting update of March for OnePlus.

Sometime between now and March 27th, OnePlus is going to launch its own custom Lollipop-based ROM called OxygenOS.

OnePlus had planned to get these updates out to its users earlier, but as Harwood explains, plenty of unexpected issues arose:

“First, there was an unforeseen OS signing issue, which has recently been resolved. Our camera module had stability issues on Lollipop, and we had to rebuild it for compatibility. Several other crucial drivers, including our Wi-Fi drivers, also needed to be updated to work flawlessly with the upgrade.”

But the delays are finally over. In fact, OnePlus is so committed to these deadlines that if the company misses its target by a single day, it’s going to give away five 64GB OnePlus One devices to fans who reply to the forum post.
