It’s pretty clear someone forgot to tell Rogers that this weekend was a huge retail event in the US, not up in Canada. First we get word that Rogers quietly released the BlackBerry Curve 8900 and now we learn that the carrier has also made the Nokia E71 available for order via telelsales. What’s more, it is available for a very reasonable $99.99 CAD with a less than reasonable 3-year contract and a combined voice / data plan of $45 or more. Sure we knew it was coming but we had no idea today would turn out to be such a huge day for the Canadian carrier. We can only hope AT&T’s E71x will be priced similarly. So while people here in the US are rushing around and fighting over the last discounted toilet scrubber over at Wal-Mart, our pals up north are trying to decide between two of the sexiest QWERTY handsets to be released this year.
